Video Rewards, Cosmetic Boopers, and Fixed Backup Issue | Sep 23, 2024
Hey there, friendly Minehutters! (Minehutians? Minehupodes? What do I call you people, anyway?)
I wanted to bring your attention to a small set of updates today, since we're testing a change that we're going to be watching closely for feedback to see how you like it.
First: Rewarded Videos 💎
You may have recently noticed that we have a new feature where you can watch an ad and receive a small gift in return!
Some players in some regions have started to see a new test we're running for rewarding players with cosmetic gems when they're warping between some lobbies and servers. We've heard many of you asking about ad rewards in the past, so while we test this out we will try out different ways of implementing this to make it great. Sadly, this is limited to specific regions right now while we work on this, but it could come to your region in the future as we test and improve over time. 🙂
Second: Cosmetic Boopers ⚔️
If you're a fan of our Boop Bridge, you'll love this. We want to bring more uses to the cosmetics. A few weeks ago we ran our first test of this by making the cosmetic fishing rod you can get in the Dragon Crate able to be used in the fishing tournament event. Today, we're rolling out another update by making all of the swords, knives, 15lb fishes, and other cosmetics able to be used in the Boop Bridge!
We definitely aren't going to stop here, but it's really cool to see how we can make the cosmetics actually a part of the minigames in our lobbies. Do you like what we're doing so far with these? Keep an eye out for more uses of the cosmetic items and let us know your ideas for what we could do next with them in #feedback-and-request.
Lastly: A backup issue resolved 🪲
This isn't something we need your feedback on, but wanted to share that a bug relating to some server backups being deleted has been fixed, so this is a good opportunity to remind you to make a backup of your servers!
